Herbs Used by AIDS Patients

I understand that there are herbs that are being used in conjunction with the conventional treatments being given. Can you enlighten me, or direct me to someone who can?

Some of the herbs used with AIDS patients along with conventional treatment are: Shiitake mushrooms strongly support immune system; Garlic, 3 large fresh cloves daily, guards against opportunistic infections; Astragalus helps to regulate the immune system; Ginseng helps to deal with stress; Turmeric is a strong antioxidant, digestive, liver supportive and blood purifier; Burdock root is antibiotic, liver supportive and immune supportive, helping to clear toxins from the blood; Licorice root is anti-viral and liver protective.
St. John's wort has been used for its antiviral and relaxing actions, but it has recently been shown to decrease the effectiveness of AIDS drugs. It is not recommended for use with AIDS medication.
