Fo-ti or Prince's Feather (Polygonum spp.)

Two years ago I ordered a Polygonum multiflorum from you. It has not flowered. There is a gorgeous picture of it in your catalogue covered with flowers. What is the trick?

We have never seen Polygonum multiflorum flower. This is the fo ti listing in our catalogue. In fact, the plant is only propagated by division or cutting because seeds are not available.
I think you are referring to prince's feather, Polygonum orientale. We have included a photo of a flowering branch in our catalogues in recent years. It is grown from seeds, and it does have showy bright red drooping flowers. Prince's feather seems to bloom in summer without needing much prompting.
